Breast Asymmetry

What is Breast Asymmetry?

Breast asymmetry refers to a condition where one breast differs in size, shape, volume, or position from the other. It’s a common occurrence, with most women having some degree of asymmetry between their breasts. In most cases, the asymmetry is not severe and doesn’t cause any health issues. However, in some instances, the difference in size or shape between the breasts can be noticeable and may cause psychological distress or self-consciousness for individuals affected.

The causes of breast asymmetry can vary and may include hormonal fluctuations, genetics, developmental factors, trauma, or surgery. In some cases, underlying medical conditions such as Poland syndrome or tuberous breast deformity can contribute to asymmetry.
